What if I Was Never Served with Any Papers?

If you were never served with any papers, the court may have ordered a “default judgment” Opens new window or order against you. You may be able to have the default and judgment canceled (called "set aside"). But you must act as soon as you find out that there was a default judgment. If you don't act soon, the court may refuse to set the judgment aside. 

This is a complicated legal problem. Contact a lawyer or the Family Law Facilitator’s Office in your county for help as soon as possible.
